Residents have access to the city’s extensive cultural and recreational resources, from professional sports to world class museums. In sports, Denver is home to professional hockey, football, basketball, soccer and arena football teams. The Rockies baseball team competes at Coors Field; the Broncos (NFL) and the Rapids (MLS) reside at INVESCO Field; and the Nuggets (NBA), Avalanche (NHL) and Crush (AFL) play at the Pepsi Center.

The neighborhood of Highland—often confused with Highlands Ranch, a separate suburb 20 miles from Highland—is a neighborhood with much diversity in addition to some of the most unique architecture. The West 28th District, also known as Stoneman’s Row, contains early 20th century homes built of flagstone.

When construction of the Platt River Bridge in the Central Platte Valley, Millennium Bridge, and Highland Bridge over Interstate 25 were completed in 2006, residents of Highland could now have easy access to the downtown area. This has led to a rapid growth over the years, making this area one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in terms of real estate.

Denver is also known for its active golfing and skiing communities. Ski resorts are plentiful in the mountains just west of the city; the closest facilities are Eldora Mountain Resort, SolVista Golf and Ski Ranch and Arapahoe Basin Ski Area. For golf, Northwest Denver residents are closest to Omni Interlocken Golf Resort and West Woods Golf Club.
